For Prosistemas – and we fully agree with Spain’s leading expert in structural concrete flooring, Professor Juan Carlos Arroyo – the ideal floor screed would be a single piece. The fewer joints the better, they are a source of problems and injuries to the concrete, as well as producing wear and tear that ends up affecting the planimetry and internal traffic of the logistics warehouse. The Big Panel consists of manufacturing large areas of flooring with the fewest – or none – number of joints. Other Prosistemas’ competitors spread the concrete by creating narrow aisles that are joined by joints every 4 metres. This is easier to do at the time, but ends up paying for itself because around the joints there is a risk of warping or unevenness that affects the planimetry or directly causes cracks in the structure. Joints cause weakness, they are the weak links in a pavement.

The main hall is built with the large panel system and this is quite common in high quality floors, but it is not common in silos, where for convenience and short-termism the system of aisles with a large number of joints is used. All the silos in the Malpica textile complex have been built with the large panel system. In addition to prolonging the life of the flooring and the safety of the traffic in the warehouse, it allows for long-term changes in the use of the warehouse or the racking furniture without the need to make adjustments to the flooring at a great economic cost.

If every meeting is a risk of creating a pathology, let’s make as few of them as possible.

If you reduce the risk,
you reduce the injury

Do you want to see this project first hand? Let’s talk

Fill in the form and you will be able to find out how a high-performance technological pavement of these characteristics is built on site. Our team will organise a visit to the construction site where you will be able to learn first-hand about the technological and construction challenges of this major project.

These visits are intended for engineering companies and properties/clients authorised by Prosistemas.
